Role
We are looking for a full-time product intern to join our team. As an ideal candidate, you must have thoughtful attention to detail, strong communication skills and experience in managing content databases.
You will play a key role in the success of our start-up by shaping our product portfolio, researching travel destinations, and supporting our expansion into new markets.
Your job has a direct impact on what Viatu will be able to offer discerning travellers. Hence, it is crucial that you are able to embrace accountability for the accuracy of the tourism information made available to the rest of the team and our travellers

Key duties and responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Playing an essentail role in improving our travel database by managing partner documentation, photos, and rates in a regular and systematic way.
Onboarding hotels and lodges to Viatu's infrastructure as well as ensuring that they are properly displayed in our backend and frontend systems.
Continuously auditing our website's product offering, to identify and report on gaps and expansion opportunities.
Working with the CRM, ensuring that it is complete and up to date with all partner information.
Researching new travel insights, destinations and potential partners, while also presenting the knowledge you acquired to the Viatu team.

Who we are looking for:
A completed bachelor's degree in social science, marketing, economics or a related field.
A meticulous and detail-orientated work ethic with a high degree of autonomy.
Systematic problem-solving abilities and proficiency in managing data in a spreadsheet.
The ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic startup environment.
An incurable case of wanderlust with a passion for travel, African wildlife and culture.
A heart for sustainability and a deep care for our environment.
A healthy disrespect for the impossible and a hunger to learn new things.

A plus:
Work experience with Google Suite and modern CRMs
Additional languages
An understanding of databases
Great presentation skills
Itinerary creation experience
Knowledge of the African supplier landscape
