Job Description

A sales representative is required for an Industrial Electrical Engineering Company.

We are a fast-growing, established industrial company based in the Northern Suburbs, of Cape Town, seeking a sales representative to proactively search for new business opportunities by establishing new clientele.

Monthly Salary Structure

Salary R6000.00

Commission See below.

If you successfully completed your 3 Month probation renegotiation of salary and allowances will be done.

Commission Structure (Based on Paid Invoices)

R60 000.00 to R250 000.00 8%

R250 001.00 to R500 000.00 9%

R500 001.00 and up (Uncapped) 10%

The Role

Your Responsibilities will include :

  • Ensuring strong customer service levels are met in line with Company objectives.
  • Supporting the customer service team in resolving escalated issues or complaints.
  • Collaborating effectively with supply chain, sales, and other teams to ensure prompt and accurate order processing and delivery.
  • Developing plans to improve customer experience and satisfaction along with other internal stakeholders.
  • Recruiting, training, coaching, and performance managing the customer service team.
  • Organizing data and generating deep customer insights in order to enhance sales force productivity and effectiveness.
  • Supporting the sales teams with key planning and operations tasks to support the overall objective of the business.
  • Attainment Planning through effective goal setting, designing sales incentives to drive business objectives, and territory analysis & definition for sales maximum effectiveness.
  • Providing pricing and contract support by providing the sales team with high-quality and competitive proposals.
  • Monitoring and analyzing key sales and business performance indicators and trends to drive strategic and tactical business decisions and also coordinating and ensuring the accuracy of sales forecasts.
  • Ensuring Sales process adoption and compliance and also identifying opportunities for improvement in the sales process and systems to ensure greater sales effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Building the sales funnel generating leads via cold calling, emailing, and other lead generation activities.
  • Handling incoming queries and building good client relationships.
  • Ensuring all leads are well qualified by identifying the correct decision makers and understanding their requirements.
  • Handing over qualified leads to the sales teams with the objective of closing the sale.
  • Maintaining and updating the lead generation database.
  • Achieving weekly / monthly targets as set out by the business.
  • Delivering effective sales skills training to the sales teams.
  • Coaching sales teams and helping them in applying training content to real-life situations.
  • Managing a team of 1-5 people.

Ideal Profile

Skills Required :

  • Sales experience in the electrical / electronic and maintenance industry is an advantage, existing client base will also be an advantage but not essential.
  • Own transport, cell phone, and laptop essential
  • The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, and target driven.
  • Good communication skills and well-presentable.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience ideally in Customer Service, Inside Sales, or Sales Operations / Support within the Industrial industry.
  • You have prior experience in dealing with Key Accounts.
  • Experience in Sales Training would be a strong advantage.
  • Experience in Industrial & Manufacturing would be a strong advantage.
  • You have a proven track record of meeting / exceeding your targets.
  • You possess excellent interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
  • You pay strong attention to detail and deliver work that is of a high standard
  • You are highly goal driven and work well in fast-paced environments
  • You possess strong analytical skills and are comfortable dealing with numerical data
  • You are willing to undertake 0-30% travel.
