Retail Allocator


Cape Town

Excellent career opportunity with one of South Africa's leading retailers. The purpose of the role is to manage in-season stock investment to deliver planned targets for each individual store / Division and BU’s.

The main KPI's are :

  • Manage stock investments
  • Allocate and replenish stock per target parameters to maximize profit and stock turn
  • Analyzing and compiling of reports
  • Order Management

Responsibilities :

  • Allocate and replenish stock per target parameters to maximize profit and stock turn
  • Category Replenishments
  • Allocate on the principles of ensuring Right Product, Right Quantity, Right Place and Right Time frame
  • Support Buyers in delivering proposals on key decisions to the business with visibility and relevant key data and analysis.
  • Submit monthly BU sales reports / Inventory and discussions to Retail Merch Manager & Buyers (Monthly Catch ups)
  • Analyze the Bestsellers and Worst-sellers and give the suggestion to maximize the performance
  • Review, analyze and propose adjustments to allocation plans, based on current trends, store performance and feedback from field team.

Consider Option plans and target stock levels. Create action plan, agree with Buyers & Merch Manager.

  • Review product performance daily / weekly to optimize inventory investment by store and drive sales
  • Monitor under / over stock position by store, adjust inventory levels based on sales levels and replenishment guidelines
  • Identify and analyze store / product statistical trends and propose actions to be taken agree with Retail Buyers
  • Compile and analyze store history, by region and store profiles to assist future planning Share with Merch Manager & Buyers.
  • Allocate and build the stock for new store openings / refurbishments according to targets. Monitor new store performance and recommend actions
  • Create, maintain, and update store / market profiles for initial allocation
  • Assist Buyers / Planners in identifying and recommending markdowns. Prepare Option / style list with markdown price proposal then sign off with Merch manager and assist in implementing agreed markdowns with Stores

Experience required :

Organizational Structure - Understands the internal organizational structure and responsibilities and actively builds a cross-functional and global network, understanding best practices across the regions / product divisions.

Analysis and Reporting Ability to develop, execute and interpret job relevant information within area of responsibility, locally and across regions, using retail numeracy, interpret the outcome and propose action steps.

Clothing Textile, Footwear and Retail Knowledge In depth knowledge of the clothing and wholesale retail market, product identity and direct competitors' products and positioning.

3 years experience in Clothing Wholesale and Retail industry.
