Job Description

Role purpose:


The Principal Specialist: Real Estate (RE) will be responsibility to manage transactional sub-processes of the end-to-end Real Estate Contract Management and accounting processes in a timely and accurate manner, in accordance with defined operating procedures, policies, SOX, compliance, IFRS16, and business partner service level agreements.


The Principal Specialist: RE is responsible for the accounting treatment of lease accounting related to Network Infrastructure sites, Subscriber Lines, Site Sharing (lease in & lease out), Finance Leases and Office Accommodation contracts ensuring timeous payment and SOX control compliance. The individual will enjoy problem-solving and striving to improve the metric of the operational process. A culture of continuous process improvement will be essential to ensure excellent operational performance.

Your responsibilities will include:


Oversee and management of Real Estate Accounting activities performed in Local Market & Shared Services
Completeness and accuracy of accounting and reporting related to RE contract management, electricity & other utility expenses, and recoveries
IFRS16 and IAS17 accounting, processes, and reporting
Ensure timely payment and resolution of escalated queries relating to contract payment
Manage, improve, and develop relationships with internal (Finance Operations, Finance Business Partners, Facilities, Technology team, Regional and National Property teams) & external stakeholders

The ideal candidate for this role will have:


Must have technical/professional qualifications:

Chartered Accountant
8+ years of relevant financial experience
Experience with the SAP RE module (Desired)


Core competencies, knowledge, and experience :

Deep understanding of the Telecommunication industry
Extensive IAS17 & IFRS16 knowledge
Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, especially Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Financial systems especially SAP

Ability to work under pressure
Ability to work with little or no supervision
