Responsibilities and Duties
• Receive, label, and safely store samples to be tested
• Determine and perform tests needed for analysis and report
• Record keeping of tests and analysis and reporting the results
• Discussing and answering any questions regarding the results
• Organizing and storing samples in accordance with all safety requirements to ensure the safety of personnel and the integrity of the sample
• Cleaning and maintaining lab equipment
• Recalibration of equipment
• Maintaining equipment records and daily work logs
• Staying current on technical and scientific advances in the field
• Stock control of chemicals used
• Preparing samples for internal and external lab analysis

Requirements
• Matric/Grade 12 with the following subjects:
– Mathematics
– Physical Science
– Biology
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Attention to detail
• Organisational skills
• Good communication
• Teamwork skills
• Good understanding of electronic and computerised equipment in laboratories
• Ability to strictly follow instructions and procedures
