We are currently seeking a Junior IT Technician to join our well-respected IT company.

In this role, you will be posted 4 days a week at one of our customers, and will be responsible for performing the job spec below.

· Maintain, update and test the ICT Disaster Recovery Plan

· Maintain Service Management systems when implemented (Help Desk)

· Conduct ICT system backups

· Monitor ICT Architecture performance (Throughput, uptime, etc.) and report issues

· Maintain and update the ICT Server Architecture

· Maintain and update the ICT LAN Architecture

· Maintain and update the ICT Fixed Asset Register

· Provide first level ERP systems support

· Do requisition input on ERP system for procurement approval

· Support the Private APN environment (GSM network)

· Monitor and control stocks of critical spares

· Maintain and update the Software library and licenses

· Install and maintain computer hardware (PC's, laptops, printers, etc.)

· Install networking hardware (Switches, routers, wireless access points, etc.)

· Configure and maintain the Multi-Function Printer environment and procure maintenance stock

· Maintain and update telecommunications hardware relevant to SLA’s in place

· Monitor communication links performance (up-time, bandwidth, latency, etc.) and report problems to ISP’s

· Install, maintain and update the video conferencing system

· Administer security systems for servers

· Maintain and administer all servers in the VMware environment using vSphere (MS SharePoint, MS Exchange, MS SQL, etc.)

· Maintain and administer firewall rules with service providers

· Install, maintain and monitor anti-virus software

· Maintain and update client PC software

· Administer the MS Windows active directory (DNS, DHCP, etc.)

· Maintain and update ICT policies and procedures where relevant

· Safeguard company assets (working capital & fixed assets)

· Identify cost saving and cash conservation opportunities

· Provide support to Corporate Office staff and remote support to Operations when required

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: From R15,000.00 per month
