About this career opportunity

As the Head of Global Payroll Operations in the Global Finance team, your contributions through this role will help us achieve the following goals :

  • Provide strategic direction : Deliver the strategic direction for global payroll and the leadership of the end-to-end daily operations of the payroll activities
  • Enable process excellence and innovation : Drive operational excellence with best-in-class process by providing, governance and oversight on operational activity
  • Compliance : Lead compliance within operations through the design of the controls environment within the end-to-end process, identification of risks, and issue management including remedial actions
  • Lead digital technology initiatives : Oversee and lead the development of system / robotic / AI solutions
  • Drive continuous improvement : Drive a culture of continuous improvement across the global payroll process and lead those team members responsible for the daily delivery of the process

You will report into and work closely with the Group Head of Finance Operations to design and implement a global payroll operating model, standardising processes, ensuring regulatory compliance and end-to end process documentation to deliver business continuity.

Duties and making an impact in this role will include :

  • Setting the strategic direction of the global Payroll process and integration with other processes and functions
  • Leading team motivation and development, with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Overseeing the implementation of controls and embedding risk management into the global payroll operation to ensure compliance
  • Effective communication and reporting on payroll performance measures to internal and external stakeholders

Key skills

  • Understanding of payroll processes and familiar with end-to-end process flows
  • Ability to think creatively and solve problems effectively
  • Excellent leadership, motivation and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong customer service principles
  • Risk management and compliance experience
  • Ability to challenge the status quo and encourage innovation.

Ideally you will be qualified in Payroll services e.g. Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP)
