Requirements
FOH Manager
- At least 3-5 years in a similar position - Back and Front Office role in a reputable lodge.
- Diploma or equivalent in Hospitality Management (Beneficial)
- Excellent Reception and Front Office control (working independently so must be able to manage all aspects)
- Strong Financial sense and sound knowledge of procedures.
- Strong Stock control experience
- Excellent knowledge of Reservations and reservations programme – ERES and APEX
- Ensure accurate detailed capturing of reservations
- Computer literate, MS Office Suite, Reservation systems, POS systems, financial systems (Debtors)
- Perform duty manager shifts when necessary- hosting guests and ensuring the service shift runs smoothly
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
- Sound knowledge of all departments within hospitality
- Professional and well groomed
Head Guide/Concession Manager
- Manage, oversee, and discipline staff in the guiding department
- Staff training and development
- All administrative duties pertaining to the guiding department
- Have thorough technical knowledge and understanding of vehicles, operations and equipment. Strong mechanical background will be beneficial.
- Daily Game Drives and Bush walks when needed.
- Newsletters and assist with Social media and photography.
- Perform duty manager shifts when necessary- hosting guests and ensuring the service shift runs smoothly
- To assist and advise on any security issues that may arise at the lodges.
- Coordinate problem animal control between the lodge and the Kruger Park Section Ranger.
- Perform non-combatant security function.
- To assist Resident Manager with concession related duties.
- To act as fire protection officer for the concession under the Fire Protection Act.
- Keep an up-to-date data base of all environmental issues.
- Ensure ongoing, responsible environmental management.
- Coordinate EIA inputs with the Environmental Consultants and management.
- FGASA Level 2 (Preference will be given to FGASA 3)
- Full Lead Trails and at least 3 years’ experience with guiding on foot (VPSA, ARH)
- Experience in security and environmental field.
- Firearm competency
- Minimum 5 years working in a minimum luxury 4/5-star lodges.
- Valid RSA Driver's License and PDP
- Valid Wilderness First Aid
- Computer literate.
- Excellent management ability and communication skills.
- A clear understanding of basic labour law and disciplinary procedures.
