An exciting and challenging opportunity has become available at Pepkor Speciality Brands in the Support office, for a Garment Technologist. Our team is looking for a confident, positive and resilient Product Technologist who is passionate about fashion and loves working in a team. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical support by developing, maintaining and enhancing consistent quality products and processes, in support of the brand’s product strategy. Our ideal candidate must be self-motivated, positive, and passionate about performance and is a resilient individual who can think laterally and who has a focus for detail and can work independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to Suppliers, Merchandise and Design teams
• Continually develop, implement and review garment specifications
• Maintain and improve product quality
• Accurately assess products against company garment specifications within the critical path
• Provide Product care information and to monitor adherence to correct care labeling by suppliers
• Supplier SWOT analysis
• Analyze customer feedback to improve garment performance and reliability
• To build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders to meet company objectives

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Clothing Management or Fashion Design

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

• 5 Years retail experience in garment technology
• Previous experience in men’s departments will be an advantage
• Minimum 3 years denim experience
• Work flexible hours – plan & manage own time
• Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
• Ability to resolve issues
• Good communication skills – written & interpersonal
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (preferably G-Suite)
• Customer service oriented
