Job Description

Overview
Omnia’s Agriculture division, the market leader in southern Africa, comprises Omnia Fertilizer and Omnia Specialities. The division produces granular, liquid and speciality fertilizers for a broad customer base of farmers, co-operatives and wholesalers throughout southern and East Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. The division is expanding its influence in Europe, South America and Asia, where it is increasing its sales of speciality products. The Omnia Agriculture division’s range of specialised products and services are encompassed by its unique Nutriology® offering, which assists customers to optimise crop yield and quality.Qualifications

  • BCom Accounting Degree or equivalent

Experience

  • 3-5 years relevant experience preferred
  • Experience in foreign trading operations will be advantageous

Duties

  • Support the finance department through liaising with other departments, business units, divisions and companies within the group to ensure the accuracy of financial information.
  • Provide assistance to business units in improving and optimizing their businesses processes.
  • Collect, process and record financial information to support management with accurate financial information to assist in their decision-making processes.
  • Manage the month-end process by processing all necessary journals in a timeous manner.
  • Compile and update standard operating procedures relating to their accounting functions to assist with transparency and succession.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial information through reconciliations.
  • Provide support during the audit process to ensure that the audit is successfully completed within the specified time frame.
  • Assist internal auditors during their audits to comply with corporate governance.
  • Assist direct managers in their decision-making process through providing them with relevant reports timeously on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with the budgeting process through sending out budgets and assisting with queries from the relevant responsible persons and collating all budget information received back from various sources.
  • Perform relevant duties during the year-end process, which includes assistance to the external auditors in order to comply with statutory requirements.
  • Administrative support on import and export documentation for specified business units
  • Administrative support to sales team for accounts receivable control for specified business units
  • Administrative support to sales team for accounts receivable credit application process for specified business units
  • Administrative support for insurance claim in relation to delivery of product for specified business units
  • Ad hoc admin duties
